Checks & Balances was founded in 2008 by Cindy Lail. Cindy offers a wealth of knowledge
that comes from over 30 years of experience with corporate, small business, and personal
finances. Her tenure in the corporate world included positions in finance, corporate ethics, and regulatory compliance. Later in her career, Cindy joined a CPA firm, expanding her knowledge
of personal and small business financial issues. It was then that she realized some clients,
particularly seniors, busy professionals, and small businesses, could greatly benefit from a
service that would help them manage and organize their daily financial affairs.
Cindy’s background gives her the ability to help clients recognize potential problems and to advise them when help from another professional, such as a CPA or estate attorney, might be of benefit. In addition, she has elderly parents who live in another state and understands the issues facing those in a similar situation.
Cindy provides her clients with individualized, personal attention. She has a talent for making financial matters easy to understand and has a special passion for helping those who are faced with handling their finances for the first time.
As a member of the American Association of Daily Money Managers, Cindy is bound by a strict
code of ethics. She is also a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA), a charter member of the ElderCare Matters Alliance, and a member of the Gwinnett Senior Provider Network.
